I like the ideas that IKEA showcases for various rooms and how their furniture can complement that space no matter how small or big it is.
I also like that you can customize and design your own room online.
I don’t like how when you grab something in the “self-pull” warehouse, it’s always heavy and awkward pushing the cart around the floor while trying to dodge other shoppers!
I hate loading it! I hate unloading it! I hate dragging it through the house to its final resting place, and especially loathe when it needs to be on a different floor.
I hate the assembling and trying to figure out what the pictures mean. It’s frustrating for myself, as I often get stuck on step 1. And where frustration fills the gap, words come out. Specific words. Colorful words. Words that have no business being said by anybody.
But, eventually, after a few hours of fighting with a screwdriver, a wrench, and a hammer, something miraculous is built. The IKEA bookcase we got is a wobbly chair and the IKEA dresser is a night-table! Job well done, Mark!
So, with all that being said, in our current IKEA home, I have assembled bookcases, more bookcases, even more bookcases, a new dresser for Niko (his old IKEA dresser is in our basement), storage cabinets, and a bookcase with drawers and doors. The storage cabinets have doors, and were never delivered with all of the other things, so they will be arriving in a few days. I am hoping those doors are easy to attach as the doors to the bookcase I built gave me a lot of issues. To be built is a wardrobe and bookcase for Nina. She needs to decide on a paint color before I can start.
