On Friday, and on our way to Best Buy to get his new iPad, Niko told me he needed an upgrade for a long time, but didn’t ask until last Friday – he thought I would say no.
We ended up trading in my iPad Air 5th generation (M1) 256 GB for a new iPad Air 11 inch (M3) 256 GB. I got the iPad 10th generation 256 GB I had originally purchased for myself back in December of 2023, until Niko asked me nicely if he could have it – and I said yes. Then I got my old iPad Mini that Niko was using at that time. Then, in March of 2024, I traded in the Mini for the iPad Air 5th generation. Confused yet, I sure am.
The area we went to last Friday has a lot of places to eat, and eating is something I take very seriously. I looked at quite a few places for Niko and I to have lunch, and had him look at some of the menus. Of course, he picked an expensive steakhouse, primarily because they had a Wagyu burger! I was like, no, let’s save the steakhouse for a special occasion – he was OK with that.
Sometimes we have too many choices to eat, so I narrowed it down to Chinese or Mexican before we left, but when got in the car, I added a third. As soon as I said the name of that third option, he was all over it and screaming yes. He has never had it and was looking forward to getting at school from his teacher, but he was out that day. Niko has been watching YouTube Kids videos, and one of them says they have the best shakes!
Where did we go?
Chick-fil-A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He got a chicken sandwich with Mac and Cheese, and a cookies and cream shake. He enjoyed it and said everything was the best. He is now eager to go back.
I had chicken tenders and chicken noodle soup. It was good.
Later on the drive home, he asked if he could be a professional eater, so we had that discussion for a few minutes and then I mentioned, maybe you can be a food critic, and then we had that discussion for a few minutes. Yeah, he asks a lot of interesting questions and most of them I can blab my way through, but sometimes, I have no clue and tell him that! Like, for example, what happens to the iPad after we trade it in? Or on his swimming lessons and swimming, do you think I can be a professional Olympic swimmer? Yesterday early afternoon, we all took a short walk, and he did some light running. He asked do you think I can be a professional runner?
