OMG, it’s only the start of May and the Thursday Night Lights (TNL) TV schedule for HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES has been released!!!
Here are the games:
8/28 – Clark vs. Churchill (Comalander Stadium)
9/4 – Smithson Valley vs. Brennan (Farris Stadium)
9/11 – Samuel Clemens vs. Stevens (Gustafson Stadium)
9/18 – Antonian vs Boerne High School (BHS Stadium)
9/25 – John Jay vs. O’Connor (Farris Stadium)
10/2 – Bye Week
10/9 – Highlands vs. Sam Houston (Alamo Stadium)
10/16 – McCollum vs. Brackenridge (Alamo Stadium)
10/23 – Marshall vs. Holmes (Gustafson Stadium)
10/30 – Warren vs. Taft (Gustafson Stadium)
11/6 – Johnson vs. MacArthur (Heroes Stadium)
Man, I can’t wait till 8/28 and this will be my 6th season as the stat man. WOW!!! Are you curious as to how I got started as the stat man in 2009? Well, you are in luck…I wrote about it last week.
The TV games I am really psyched to see are:
8/28 – Clark vs. Churchill (Comalander Stadium)
I am a 1995 Clark graduate and I always enjoy working the games, plus they are rivals. Oh, the game is also called “The Gucci Bowl.” Reason being is both schools represent affluent areas. Churchill has a running back, Nico Smisek, who is one of the players on my 2014 watch list!!
9/4 – Smithson Valley vs. Brennan (Farris Stadium)
Brennan went 15 and 1 last year (that lone loss came in the state championship game). Well, this year, Brennan makes the jump to 6A and they get the Smithson Valley welcome party in Week 2. Arrive early cause it will be a full house and probably the game of the week in a lot of the local and non-local media outlets.
9/18 – Antonian vs Boerne High School (BHS Stadium)
I love the fact that these two smaller schools will be featured on TV.
11/6 – Johnson vs. MacArthur (Heroes Stadium)
Last year, Johnson was the surprise team and ended up playing in the state championship (they lost to Katy). I kinda have a feeling that Johnson will be on a repeat mission!!!
