For the past few weeks, Niko has been waking up around 6:30am; probably because we are transitioning him to one nap and haven’t yet mastered the awake and sleep times. Hopefully soon we will get it perfect and he can go to bed later and get up later. This really early wake up time is also happening on the weekends. And, when he is up, we have to be up. We can’t ignore him for another hour or so. It’s our son and we are so eager to see his happy face and talk to him.
The good thing is I get to get him from his crib in the morning and he says hi to me as soon as I open the door. I then give him to Nina for boobies; I want boobies in the morning, that would be a great start to the day for me.
I then head downstairs to get dressed and a few minutes before I leave at 7am, Nina and Niko come down.
So, basically I only get to see Niko for less than 15 minutes in the morning. And I am usually home at 5:15pm and get to play with him and feed him for about a half an hour. At 6pm we all go up and I get to undress Niko for his bath with mom; he also eats boobies again. When they are done, I get to dry Niko off, get him dressed for nighttime, and put him in the crib so he can sleep.
All together, I only see Niko for less than 2 hours throughout the day. Not enough time, but hopefully, this is only temporary.
I don’t even eat and clean when I get home; I want that time for Niko. I come back downstairs after I put him in the crib and do my manly chores; I prepare my breakfast and lunch for the following day, I eat dinner with Franklin cat, I put all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run it so I can empty it the following morning, and I clean pots and pans that were used throughout the day. No complaints! I would make a good kitchen cleaner. And, just within the past week; except on Friday, Saturday, and tonight, I am watching Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later on Netflix when I eat dinner. My attention span is less than a half an hour which is how long the episodes are. It’s a perfect mix of food and comedy.
