UTSA vs McNeese State

Posted on 11/11/201211/04/2025 by Mark
Yesterday, I was the Alamodome for my last UTSA football game as they hosted the McNeese State Cowboys.  I know they have one more home game on November 24th against Texas State, but I will be on a well deserved vacation.  I am also gonna miss some high school football games as well.

I gotta give a HUGE thanks to Ed Suarez…Ed mentioned my name to some folks at UTSA before the season began and that is how I got the job!!!  Ed, I owe you a meal!!!  Kevin Kassian, one of the many UTSA athletic officials, is the one who hired me…thanks a bunch Kevin for everything.

The folks at Radio Formula SA along with Jorge Rodriguez and David Miguel, the broadcasters, were extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable from the start!!!  Working the UTSA football games was an absolutely amazing experience and I am looking forward to next season.

Not only am I graduate of UTSA (class of 2000), but the majority of the kids on the team played high school football in San Antonio…pretty awesome!!!  I read that UTSA is looking at Judson running back, Jarveon Williams and Smithson Valley running back, Lawrence Mattison…both would be very good pick-ups for the Roadrunners!!!

Yesterday’s UTSA game was exciting and really close and dude, I am really glad UTSA held on for the 31-24 victory.  With that win, they won’t have a losing season!!!  My favorite players from the team are all the ones from San Antonio…whenever one of them runs the ball, catches a pass, makes a tackle, breaks up a pass, makes an interception, kicks an extra point or field goal, or returns a punt or kickoff, I get goosebumps and have a great big smile on my face!!!  I have been really impressed by Eric Soza, the quarterback, for UTSA…he is a leader on the field and makes smart decisions.  Soza is not from San Antonio, so I never saw him play high school football.
