The only District I really care about is 25-5A cause that is where the Judson Rockets are! I also can’t believe that they have the largest enrollment at 3,848! Wow, that’s a lot of students!
In that District, the Steele Knights and Seguin Matadors have been replaced by the Smithson Valley Rangers (they went from 4A to 5A) and the New Braunfels Canyon Cougars!
I think Judson will still play Steele in non-District play and I know they won’t miss Seguin since they are a bad team. Smithson Valley is another powerhouse for high school football. They haven’t won any state championships, but have gotten very close the past several years. Plus, the school and stadium kinda look like a small university! Smithson Valley and Judson used to be in the same District a few years ago, so this will be a renewed rivalry for both schools who don’t like each other. All I really know about the Canyon Cougars is they have a fairly new stadium with a red turf!
I read a tweet about a possible Week 0 game between the Judson Rockets and the Lake Travis Cavaliers (they have won 5 consecutive 4A state championships, they also went from 4A to 5A)! That would be awesome!
Gonna be some fun football starting in August and I can’t wait!
