Life is good for me, as last Wednesday (10/9/2024), I celebrated my one-year work anniversary at HealthEquity, Inc. I went to a Finance Conference at the headquarters in Draper, UT in July and it was nice to meet my team face-to-face, and even other people who I have been on calls with.
Here is a timeline of my jobs since 2007 (just three of them):
1/07/2007 – First day at Washington Mutual Bank (changed to Chase in 2008). Nina started the same day but in a different department. In 2008, she made it to my department where she sat behind me, and we all know what happened next!
8/15/2022 – Resigned from Chase. I was supposed to start a new job, but it was a scam and never happened. Luckily, I was only out-of-work for two months.
9/19/2022 – I received two contract offers for unclaimed property jobs. One for MUFG Bank and the other for Warner Music Group. I accepted MUFG as the pay and contract length were better. Had Warner Music acted faster on their offer, I would have taken it, but it took them several back-and-forth emails to get it.
10/11/2022 – First day at MUFG Bank.
7/10/2023 – I applied for a job at Health Equity as a Treasury Manager, Unclaimed Property. My contract at MUFG would be ending on 10/11/2023, so I had to look for employment opportunities elsewhere as I hadn’t been given any updates on my position. It’s funny, because after I applied, I copied the job description into a word document should I need it in the future. I actually thought that the next day, they would contact me because I am awesome, and the job description was written for me, and they would interview me and offer me the job that same day!
7/19/2023 – I was notified that a new job requisition at MUFG Bank was opened for a full-time Unclaimed Property Analyst. It was mine to have, and all I had to do was apply. No interview would be necessary. So, I was glad that after almost nine months, I would finally get all the benefits that came with being a fulltime employee. Yeah, I did have health insurance through my contract employor, but it was expensive.
8/9/2023 – First interview with Human Resources at Health Equity. So, while I was emailing back-and-forth with them, I got an email that I was rejected for the job. I then asked them about it, and she was like that was an error as I still really want to meet you.
8/14/2023 – Second interview with hiring manager at Health Equity.
8/25/2023 – Third interview with five mangers from various lines of businesses and one person from the vendor they use for unclaimed property at Health Equity.
9/5/2023 – First day at MUFG Bank as a fulltime employee. Yay!
9/13/2023 – I received an offer and accepted it for the Treasury Manager, Unclaimed Property at Health Equity.
10/9/2023 – First day at Health Equity. Yay!
10/10/2023 – Resigned from MUFG Bank. I really wanted to give them the common two weeks’ notice, but I was afraid they would let me go immediately. I also wanted to make sure the Health Equity job went through as I have already been burned once. On 9/22/2023, MUFG opened up another job requisition for an Unclaimed Property Analyst position, based in Tampa, FL as a hybrid job and I knew about that requisition. During my last few weeks, I was working on some training documentation for the new person as well as updating necessary service request documents.
And, on Thursday (10/10/24), Nina and I celebrated our 14th anniversary. Nina and I went to BJ’s for lunch and afterwards we stopped at CVS for milk. Niko has been gulping down a lot more milk than has in the past, so we wanted to make sure we wouldn’t run out.
I got Nina flowers and several varieties of chocolates. She got me three customized Funko Pop’s (Nina, Niko, and me). I have them on my work desk, and love them. Nina has a book of spells and a whisk, Niko has a video game controller and a smoothie, and I have a book and a frying pan with bacon and eggs. Oh, Niko’s came with a black cat. Now, I want more accessories!
Yesterday, Niko woke up at 5:30 am, and at that time, he really wanted IHOP. I was perfect for IHOP, but needed to wait till my brain woke up! So, at 7:30 am, Niko and I had breakfast. He ordered an OJ, a side of fruit, a side of ham, cinnamon crepes, and chocolate pancakes. I ordered a Dr. Pepper and a bacon, sausage, and ham omelette with pancakes. Yummy!
Afterwards, we had some floorboard returns at Home Depot and Floor and Decor, both of which were close by so we knocked those out. We had a few floorboards that needed to be replaced, and a lot of people said look in the attic for extra pieces. I looked several times, and only found extra tiles, no floorboards. So, Nina purchased some new floorboards, and then on Thursday night (10/10), she asked me to look again in the attic. I did, and guess what? I found the floorboards buried in the insulation and it was just enough for what needed to be replaced (which happened on Friday). On Tuesday through Thursday, the same company did other work on the outside of the house.
After we got the returns completed, Niko wanted to stay out, but it wasn’t even 9 am yet, and hardly anything was opened. So, we went home, and I changed from sandals to shoes and we went out to Bass Pro Shops (he didn’t buy a boat, but he did get taffy, fudge, and a stuffed golden retreiver dog). He enjoys Bass Pro Shops because of the size of the store, the stuff they have, the boats, the ATV’s, and the elevators! After that, he was done and we went home to relax!
