I am by no means a professional chef, but I try my best to give Niko the best breakfasts before school. Sometimes he requests fried eggs or a ham and egg breakfast taco, which I can do for him.
Last week, though, he wanted French Toast, and we not only had the eggs, and bread, but we also had maple syrup (we don’t often have it in the house). We also heavy whipping cream from Costco, so I drizzled some on his plate. He enjoyed it, and I got to have the last few bites, so I was happy.
On Friday, he got his Flu and Covid shots at CVS, and afterwards, I told him he can get some junk food and drinks. For his drink, he chose Naked Mighty Mango and for food, he chose Top Ramen, Macaroni and Cheese, Cheeto Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yes, for breakfast yesterday and this morning, he had Cinnamon Toast Crunch. This morning, he also had some bacon which I cooked for us. I don’t make bacon often, but when I do, I like to scramble eggs in the bacon grease and it always comes out extra delicious.
Yesterday, he was watching videos on YouTube Kids, and one of them is a gentleman who works at a Subway. Of course, and like 5 minutes later, at 9 am, he requested Subway for lunch. I obliged, but we didn’t go out till 11 am. I wasn’t in the mood for Subway, so I ordered Pei Wei for myself and got Nina and Niko their custom sandwiches, which both of them really enjoyed. Niko got The Beast without pepperoni with a little bit of mayo and lettuce (and, a bag of chips, a chocolate milk, and cookies). Nina got turkey only with onions, red peppers, and spinach. I got teriyaki beef with an egg roll (not from Subway, that would be wrong).
The cool thing is they both have half their sandwiches left, and I have nothing but fortune cookies left.
