Next Monday, Niko goes back to school, and this year, his class will be on the 2nd floor! Some schools in the area start tomorrow.
He has his school supplies, and a few days ago, we ordered new clothes for him. He still won’t wear shorts and a t-shirt! He wears a t-shirt and a lightweight button down long sleeve short over it. It’s funny, because when we go swimming or play with water guns in the backyard, he will wear a t-shirt and his bathing suit! I have even tried to bribe him with money and he turns it down. One day, though, it will happen. Just like when he stopped wearing his onesie pajamas to bed and asked for pants and a long sleeve shirt, I didn’t ask any questions, I just did it and he never looked back.
We have gone out and done things, but nothing fancy to write home about. We let him enjoy himself at home, and not have to worry about anything. His favorite activity is watching his iPad and playing video games, sometimes, both at the same time. The things he watches on his iPad are mostly people playing video games, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Rubik’s Cube videos!
Recently, he has been having some alone time in his bedroom where he takes the cat and his iPad, and gets comfy on his bed. Sometimes, he requests my company, and I am happy to cuddle up next to him.
I will miss him when he goes back to school, but I won’t miss the noise. Not of him, but his iPad and video games.
One of the cool things about the school, is Nina and I will again have a yearly pass, so we can take him directly to his classroom and have lunch with him. Nina and I will take him together in the morning the first week, and then it will be me. For afternoon pickup, it will be Nina.
