When Nina and I announced to the universe that we were pregnant on Halloween, the due date of May 8th was so far down the road. I know, she is the pregnant one and I am just the husband and baby daddy. Actually, I think I have sympathy symptom’s because a few weeks ago, she had an appointment and that day at work, my stomach was hurting. It is a thing right? I hope I am not alone.
Well, flash forward to today and it is approaching rapidly. Every night before I go to sleep, I peak at the baby’s room — soon, he will be able to enjoy it as much as us.
You know something, Nina and I have been together since 2008 and I really love our alone time (even when Franklin cat meows), but when the baby arrives, it is going to bring us even closer and will it be absolutely fantastic. This kid sure is going to be smart and good looking!!! I am looking forward to teaching him all the fun things about being a dude and I know he will teach me a lot as well.
We still have a lot of things on our “to do list” and as I am writing this, Nina is in arts and crafts mode as she is making and sewing things for the baby (hats, bibs, blankets, and other items of necessity) out of our old clothes. As for me, I just cleaned part of the refrigerator (this weekend, I am going to defrost and clean our chest freezer). We are getting ready for a very large Costco run for supplies and food.
