On April 9th and for only the 2nd time since Niko was born last May, Nina and I had to get a babysitter for Niko (which ended up being Nina’s mom and my parents). Yes, three people to watch 1 little dude!!! We had purchased tickets last August for Hedwig and The Angry Inch.
We (or shall I say Nina) had everything planned from his walk, to his nap, to his lunch, to a bottle of milk, and a small list of do’s and don’ts. I even showed them how to change a diaper because they haven’t done it a very long time (I am approaching 40 years old and Nina is a few years younger than me).
I must admit and say it was weird leaving the house without Niko. I kept looking in my rearview mirror for a baby face. But, at the same time it was very nice for us as we haven’t had much alone time since last May. Our alone time at home happens when he is napping or sleeping in the evening and usually we are either exhausted from the long day, doing household chores, reading an e-book, or writing (which I have been doing a lot lately — it’s the only chance I really get to gets words on a screen).
We had a wonderful time at the show but were eager to get back home to our son.
To everybody’s surprise (except ours) and our way of saying thanks, we picked up some pizzas for dinner.
Niko did awesome for the grandparents and they had a blast playing with him.
I am very much looking forward to going out again with Nina alone an having the 3 of them babysit Niko again,
