On October 31, 2015, I wrote my first blog post on www.thedadspeaks.com, and today, I have reached number 500!
On www.thestatmanspeaks.com, I have 441, and that one started in July of 2011. I was very active through 2017 as I stepped away from sports writing. Since then, I have only had 14 published blogs, and 5 of those were published first on www.txredzonereport.com.
On that first blog post, I used 32 exclamation points! I was excited as that was when we told the world that Nina was pregnant.
So, how should I celebrate number 500? Well, how about I just say thanks to my wife and son for providing everlasting content for me, thanks to my laptop, thanks to my fingers, and thanks to all of my millions of readers all over the world.
Now, that we got that out of the way, time to write something.
Niko is off from school next week for Thanksgiving, so it will be a fun and interesting week for Nina and me as both of us have to work. Actually, Nina is off Thursday and Friday, and I am off on Thursday. It will be nice to finally have a healthy child home, and since Nina’s schedule is flexible, they may do something at the start of the week together and leave me home alone with Riley cat. I know my parents are coming over on Monday to play with Niko.
We are not having a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but rather do take out from a restaurant. We don’t even like turkey. Yes, Nina is going to make one and we will eat it for a day, and then after that, it will be used for soup.
I found an app for my iPhone that allows me to take a picture of the stories I wrote in high school and college and convert them to a text file. That is very good news for me, because I want to edit them, and they will require a lot of that. The only copies I have been carrying with me for many years is a printed copy from a very old printer and probably my old Apple desktop computer. I think my dad still has that Apple computer, and it may even still work. Maybe next time I visit them, I can boot it up to confirm and see if there is anything on there that I want for myself.
