I guess being five years old, means some things must be perfect! If not, he gets frustrated and has recently started imitating our body and facial expressions from when we get frustrated. It’s actually really funny how accurate he is, especially when he uses them.
Let me quickly explain…
For breakfast, Niko wants ham and eggs with butter and salt. If anything else goes in by accident, he won’t eat them; like pepper!
When he wants a smoothie, it either has to be with bananas and strawberries; sometimes with peanut butter and sometimes without peanut butter. Hey, he drinks them completely!
When he eats pasta, he wants lots and lots of parmesan cheese; sometimes with butter and sometimes without butter.
When he goes to sleep, he has to have a towel on top of his pillow so we can wipe his face on it; don’t worry, I do wash it daily and swap it out in the middle of the night when he goes pee. Underneath that pillow is a small bag with some homemade small soft hearts and some small pieces of soft cloth; Nina sprays some orange scented flavor on it also. For blankets, he has four of them; the first one gets tucked under his neck. The rest get spread out on top of that one. For his feet, he has a small pillow and a rolled up blanket that he likes to put his feet on. He sleeps in footed pajamas, he refuses to sleep in anything else, even though we have told him that the pajamas only go up to a certain size and he is already very close to that size. Oh, he likes having some of his toys in bed with him while he sleeps. He tucks them in a little blanket and call them his babies! One night a few days ago, I was showering and he was screaming for us. Nina came running upstairs and he told her, he needed his babies tucked! He is so such a sweet boy.
He has a noise machine going all night and, just recently, he has had music playing all night as well.
If he tries to change something at nighttime, Nina and I know for a fact, it will only last a minute, Then, he is like, ok, back to normal please.
