Why is it that only one day a year we celebrate Mothers Day? In my little world, everyday is Mothers Day! Niko and I absolutely adore Nina and cling to her throughout the days. The only alone time she gets is in the evenings after Niko goes to sleep and I am downstairs doing things like writing or watching television.
I always get her flowers for special days and I didn’t want to pay anything extra for delivery today, so I had flowers delivered on Tuesday from 1-800-FLOWERS and when they arrived, they were pathetic looking and the majority of rose petals fell off as I was assembling it. I did complain to them and got my money back. Next time I need to purchase flowers, I will do it in person at our local grocery store where I can pick them myself for much much much cheaper! And, hopefully, when that does happen, the world will be open for business!
On Wednesday, Nina had a dr’s appointment and she mentioned that on her way home, she was going to stop for coffee. Well, another one of her gifts I got her was a gift certificate to Starbucks. So, I taped it on her steering wheel the night before and she was super surprised and happy when she saw it. Hey, if my woman wants coffee, I will happily oblige!
I also got her chocolate, an eye mask, and Niko and I painted and decorated a small vase for her; it was basically an art project for Niko and he actually did most of it. I know when Nina sees it, she will enjoy it and hopefully, keep it somewhere where she can see it.
For breakfast, she requested bacon and coffee! Well, I got thick cut bacon ready to be fried in the morning and she still has a little bit of leftover coffee from Starbucks. One thing I like about cooking bacon, besides how yummy it comes out, is I can cook Niko’s and my eggs in the bacon grease!
And, whatever else Nina wants throughout the day, Niko and I will handle it; no matter what it is!
