Occasionally, I ask Nina and Niko what I should write about because they provide fresh ideas and also my brain is full of nothing! Niko suggested to write about me and him and everything we do on the weekends like playing hide and seek, wrestling, playing with legos, magnetic tiles, cars, eating, showering and bathing, relaxing, and telling him all of my issues in my life and taking his answers in much consideration. Man, what a fantastic idea from mini me!
So, this one is for Niko.
When Niko requests something special; especially when it’s something we have to do outside the house, I try my best to make it happen. It’s been a hard year for him being stuck inside since March. Yeah, we have been out in the world, but it’s not the same as before. Nina already has a list of places to go when it’s safe.
On Friday after I got out of work, Nina went down the street to get some coffee from Starbucks and Niko asked for a smoothie and a croissant from another restaurant called Kneaders. Even though Nina said no, I told Niko that we could do Kneaders on Saturday; and thankfully, he was good with that.
On Saturday, Niko and I placed an online order for curbside pickup at Kneaders. Sandwiches for Nina and I, smoothies for Niko and I, croissants for all of us, and a chocolate chip cookie for Niko. We did curbside because I assumed it would be fast, but that wasn’t the case; it took them 30 minutes and Niko and I had to go in to the restaurant to pick it up. It was worth the long wait as the food was yummy and Niko ate half of my tuna melt sandwich and had a bite of Nina’s turkey and avocado sandwich.
