The Dad Bod – Part 5

Posted on 10/18/202004/19/2025 by Mark

Last Wednesday, I started to eat healthy again and so far, I am doing great. I have a piece of paper that stares at me all day long and this is what it says:

BREAKFAST (BIG) – EGGS AND FRUIT

LUNCH (MEDIUM) – MEAT AND VEGGIES

DINNER (SMALL) – MEAT AND VEGGIES WITH NIKO AND FRUIT AFTER NIKO IS SLEEPING

REMINDERS – NO SWEETS, BREAD, PASTA, RICE AND PORTION CONTROL FOR SNACKS

Don’t laugh, but it really helps me and motivates me throughout the day. The good thing is, I do have a lot of will power and I want to do this myself, my wife, and my son; I want to be around for a very long time.

I was worried about how I would do yesterday and today since that is usually when I eat like a teenager!

On Saturday, after I voted, I was really thinking about getting breakfast tacos from somewhere, but my brain said no. So, I made a nice omelette at home with some cooked sausage. After I finished, Niko and I went to CVS where I got a bag of popcorn and a cream soda. The popcorn didn’t taste like cheddar, so I threw it away; it was really gross! I think for a reward for myself after a month of eating better, I will splurge and get a popcorn tin with the three flavors of butter, cheddar, and caramel. I would say, it was good day eating on Saturday as those were my only hiccups.

This morning, I made myself breakfast tacos with sausage and salsa; only three tortillas were used in the eating of it. For lunch, Niko and I went to my parents house where I had leftover tuna fish and macaroni and cheese. Yeah, the mac and cheese wasn’t the best thing for me to eat, but I didn’t feel like food diving for meat and veggies. I will get back on track tonight as Nina made chicken and chicken soup and I still have a few mouthfuls of sausage left. I may just have to make some fresh veggies tonight that will last me a few days.
