ode to my wife

Posted on 07/16/201604/19/2025 by Mark
My wife, Nina, is a stay-at-home mom and everything she does while I am at work (whether it be my fulltime job, my statistician job, or my freelance sports writing/photography job) is always greatly appreciated.  She makes my life very easy.  I, in turn, make her life easy and together, we make Niko’s life easy.

Unfortunately, there are more single people raising children then you probably think and they deserve to be thanked as it is extremely hard work with only 1 mature (or sometimes immature) adult in the household.

If I had to raise Niko alone, I would probably go crazy!!!  No, I am just kidding or am I?  I would likely get the help of my parents because family is very important to me.  I would definitely work my ass off to provide food, water, shelter, and health insurance.  I would be sure to spend every free moment I have with him.  I would probably have to give up a lot of things I like so I could focus on his needs and interests because it is all about him.  I think I could do it, but I won’t have to even think about it because Nina and I have no plans on getting rid of each other.  I got a perfect life with a happy wife and son and nothing beats that.

We joke around that if does happen (leaving each other), that I would be right behind her with the cat and/or baby.  The three of us would be part of the settlement so she is stuck with us.   See, we really do like each other.  I mean, if we didn’t, I wouldn’t be writing about being a dad.
