I have probably written something similar before on thedadspeaks.com, but I really don’t care!!
It is hard work raising a baby. Just taking him out takes preparation and a lot of patience. You also can’t make scheduled plans because we are on baby time. I do get tired when we take him out.
Besides being a dad, I have a full-time job, a part-time writing/photographing job for St. Anthony Catholic High School Football, and I do a lot of the dirty work at home (trash, laundry, kitchen, vacuuming, and changing sheets on our bed and the crib). I also cook sometimes for us. Yes, I am a man who cooks and cleans and sorry, ladies and men, but I am married!!!
I am lucky that Nina is a stay-at-home mom. Yes, my wife does a lot as well, but she takes care of Niko all day while I am at work and I want her to relax and take it easy when I am home.
Being a husband is awesome, but being a Dad is even better. I love coming home from work and seeing his face and smile, I love holding him, I love watching him sleep on my stomach, I love watching him sleep in the crib, I love making him laugh, I love changing his diaper, I love dressing him, I love handing him to his mother for food, I love carrying him when we go out, I love singing to him, I love reading to him, I love talking to him, I love making faces at him, I love giving him bathes, I love playing with him, I love his expressions, I love hearing him babble, and I love watching him grow. See, the rewards are fantastic!!!
