It was a weekend of firsts.
On Thursday, it was Halloween and it was also Niko’s first time trick-or-treating. It was our first time living in a real neighborhood with other people around us who also have children. Niko really enjoyed walking around, seeing other kids getting candy, knocking on doors, and looking in garages as that is where the majority of people were setup. And, he got a lot of candy. Yes, every 30 seconds, he asks for candy! The weather was absolutely perfect to be outside.
Niko dressed up as a fireman; he had red boots, firetruck pajamas, a fire hat, and a homemade fire hose that I made for him. Nina and I were ourselves and that is the best costume ever. I think next year, we will dress up. I saw a lot of parents dressed up.
Halloween will always be a special day for Nina and I. Not for the candy, but for a much better reason. On Halloween in 2015, we made Niko official to the world. In 2016 and 2017, Niko was a skeleton! Last year, Niko was Shrek. It will be interesting to see what he is next year.
On Friday, I started my first class of my MBA at WGU. For the next year and a half to two years, I’m going to be doing schoolwork every evening and for now, that will be on top of everything else I do in the evenings; like cleaning the kitchen, eating dinner, gathering my food for the next day of work, and taking all the trash out. I know it will take some time for me to get in a good school routine in the evenings as before, I would read a book, write, eat, drink, and relax in our bedroom. I am actually not all worried about school as I am motivated to do it because it will benefit me in the future.
