Don’t tell mom but when he is older, I will share my candy obsession with him (which includes Junior Mints, Whoppers, Nestle Crunch, Butterfinger, and anything with Reese’s). If you’re feeling generous, I accept gifts!!!
It is absolutely amazing how much he has grown since May 2nd. It is in large part due to “Mommy Milk” which is really good stuff (although, I haven’t tasted it yet myself). In a few months, the real food experiment will begin. I am already practicing my gagging skills when I change those diapers!!!
Every day, Niko does something new and even though I may miss some of it (since I am at work), Nina sends me pictures and vides of him and tells me what is happening in the baby land. I should post a text conversation between us about the baby because they are funny. Seeing those pictures and videos always makes me happier. But, I am happiest when I come home from work and I get to hold my son and give my wonderful, awesome, and extremely sexy wife a short break.
I really enjoy spending time with them and cherish those moments. It is going to be hard for me, for Nina, and especially Niko when high school football starts on August 25th. On that day, and going for 11 weeks, I will be out all day on Thursday’s (I won’t be home until 11pm — and I start at 6:30am). I am the statistician for Thursday Night Lights (since 2009) on CW35 in San Antonio and online at www.kmys.tv/tnl. I started as a High School football statistician for the Texas Sports Radio Network in 1997. Yes, I am a veteran statistician!!! Who knows, maybe I will be in the STATISTICIAN HALL OF FAME.
I was undecided on what I would do on Friday’s and Saturday’s during the High School football season. In addition to being a TV statistician, I am a freelance High School sports writer/photographer and have held that title since 2011. I retired from the Texas Sports Radio Network in 2015 so I could focus more on being a sports writer/photographer. On July 7th, I was approached by St. Anthony Catholic High School to cover the football team and after I reviewed the schedule and explained my plans to my wife, I accepted the offer. But, that acceptance only lasted a few weeks as I had a change of heart. Basically, I want to spend that time with my family because every moment is very precious to me.
