I often wonder what will Niko’s 1st memory be?
He is very smart and picks up on a lot of stuff we talk about and for the majority of the time, we talk to him like an adult not a 2 year old. We always tell him what happened today and will be happening tomorrow; we like to prepare him for things.
I know he loves seeing pictures and videos of himself on our phones, but does he know it’s him? I think so, mainly because he asks for Niko pictures! If we show him other photos, he adamantly says NO!
When I see baby photos of me, I don’t remember anything and the real funny thing is most of the furniture in the pictures is still being used at my parents house! I do wish I could get my Hershey’s baseball cap back!
One of my earliest memories is waking up from some minor surgery when I was about 3 or 4 years old and seeing my mother sleeping in a white chair next to the hospital bed.
Obviously, I don’t remember being born or moving to Texas from New Jersey when I was 4 months old; all I have is the stories from my parents. That reminds me, I really need to interview them before they get older and forget or die.
When I was 5 years old in 1982, my parents drove me and my brother to Disney World from Texas in a brand new Chevy station wagon. That station wagon had a 3rd row seat and throughout the lifetime of the station wagon, my brother and I had a lot of fun sitting in the back and making faces to the cars behind us. My parents friends from New Jersey and their kids were supposed to meet us but they couldn’t make it; there kids are similar in age to me and my brother. When we arrived in our hotel, there was a knock and surprise, it was my parents friends and kids; yay! I remember Space Mountain and Epcot Center. I have a feeling that Nina and I will take Niko to Disney World in a few years when he can remember or maybe a Disney cruise!
