A few weeks ago, my dad shared 365 writing prompts on his YouTube page: Thoughts from an Old Man, and I was intrigued and wanted to see if this is something I can do for a year. Well, I am doing it, and enjoying it. I don’t spend a lot of time on them (maybe 5 to 10 minutes a night).
Usually, for my Sunday dad blogs, I have something written and am tweaking it till I publish it. I spend a lot more time on them as well. But, for today, I had nothing. And, since my writing prompt was about something Niko and I did yesterday, I thought, let me share it.
Father and son bonding time at the pool today. It’s been so hard this summer to get Niko out in the world, so when I offered the pool a few days ago, he was somewhat agreeable to it. I mean, we haven’t been in a while, and he really enjoys swimming as he had swim lessons last summer at the high school right after we moved to Minnesota.
For me, I enjoy swimming, but usually, after about 45 minutes, I am ready to be done.
In prior times, I like to go to the pool first thing in the morning when they open. But, today, we went around 12 pm, and it was very crowded. Still, Niko and I found a nice spot in the pool. He showed off his skills! And, without asking, he was tired after about 45 minutes, so we got out, and got food from the snack bar – pizza and propel for Niko and a hot dog and a Dr. Pepper for me. I much rather would’ve enjoyed something from a restaurant, but Niko really likes the idea of that snack bar.
