Since we came back from San Antonio in June, Niko’s sleep schedule has been really messed up.
In the evenings, he gets up several times for a pee, a drink, a snack, or just to complain about something. Because of that, he wakes up later. I thought it was a phase, and we could get back to a normal routine of 7:30 pm bedtime (with one or no wake-ups during the night) and awake around 6 or 7 am. Nope!
He has been sleeping late, and I am glad he is doing it, but sometimes, when he gets up, he wants to go back to sleep! It’s weird for me because during the week, I get up around 7:45 am, and do my things (eating, working, walking, showering), and by the time I am done, he is either still sleeping or just waking up. When Nina and Niko do get up (whatever time that is), I can finally empty the dishwasher and put away the dirty dishes.
On the weekend, I have been enjoying some extra sleep in the mornings, as well as quiet.
Despite all this, we are trying to get him back into his normal routine, as he starts school in a month. Last week, we woke him up at 10 am, and yesterday, Nina had to stand by his door and played really loud music; he blocked us from opening the door with a chair (which we said is not safe, so when it finally opened, it became the property of Nina). This week, his wake up time is 9 am.
