Yesterday, Niko had a birthday celebration at the local community center pool with some of his classmates. Easy setup for Nina and me, as we reserved a room with a door to the pool (they had over an hour to swim) and the community center supplied food and drinks for all. I picked up a Pokemon cake on Thursday. Nina went out during the week to get favor bags, a cheap fancy tablecloth, and some extra pool supplies. See, easy.
Even the invitations were simple, as Niko created them on Canva!
It was great to see Niko having a wonderful timer with his classmates, and even though I had my bathing suit on, I stayed with the adults and talked about adult things, all while keeping an eye on Niko! I know, I had to act mature! I did jump in for a quick minute as Niko requested my presence in the pool.
Also, what a great way to end the school year. He is off tomorrow, and his last day of school is on Thursday.
Oh, on Friday, the school had some outside festivities, but it was cool and rainy, so not ideal for Niko. After the running of laps for an hour, we headed to the cafeteria and watched Niko eat his lunch (it was interesting to see what he ate first, Cheetos! – I should’ve known!). Then, we signed him out and took him home with us.
