Madman on a Drum (Mac McKenzie, #5) – by David Housewright

Posted on 02/28/202603/01/2026 by Mark

What are best friends for? In this one, Bobby Dunston’s (a police officer) daughter is kidnapped and ransom is a million dollars (which McKenzie has). Without even thinking or even being asked, McKenzie gets the ransom for his best friend. Things happen, people are killed, McKenzie runs from bad people who are trying to hurt and/or kill him, and he also gets help from a private investigator (Greg Schroeder who was mentioned in a prior book). We even see McKenzie as an emotional person.

I was surprised when I found out who the bad person was, as it was somebody we already knew (he was in a prior book).

I had a LOL moment, when I read a line that referenced Monty Python!
