In July, Niko declared his current King bed not comfortable anymore and he was really struggling in the evenings to go to sleep. So, I gave him my Queen bed and took his uncomfortable King bed. For me, it was a no brainer swap as his sleep is the most important in the house. That worked for him, and I also knew that eventually, I would get my Queen back when we got him a new bed.
Well, on October 25th, we got him a new Queen bed with a free adjustable frame. On that following Monday, we got it delivered and a few minutes later, we had my Queen setup in my room (which was very easy) and his new Queen setup in his room (which took a few minutes as his frame needed my special dad screwing in skills).
But, I had a small problem as I still had a King in my room and Nina wasn’t able to help me move it as she had a back shot scheduled for the next day. Facebook to the rescue. I posted my dilemma on the neighborhood group, and a bunch of people commented they could help me move it. I responded to one who said he lived on my street. He came over Wednesday, and together we moved my King from upstairs to the basement (that’s two flights of stairs). He even offered to help move the frame, but I told him I could do that the next day. It just needed my special dad screwing in skills as I had to separate it in half (it was actually easy once I figured it out).
When we first moved in, we took a walk on the walking trail to the lake, and one of the houses we passed has a beautiful screened in glass sunroom and that is something that we would like to do. Well, the gentleman who helped me, that is his house! I am hoping my nosiness will allow us to look at it closer, but he did tell me it’s still under construction.
The only downside to Niko’s new bed is it’s low, but we ordered bed risers, and that helped raise it up.
For me, I am good and am glad to have my Queen back. The old King is now down in the basement and it will be a nice place to hang and watch the snow. Last weekend, we moved some furniture around in the basement, so we now have another place other than hang out, as well as a very uncomfortable King bed!
We need one more Queen for Nina, and then we will mover her King to the basement and the King in the basement now will be trashed.
This weekend, Niko’s room is being painted, so he slept in my room on Friday and Saturday, while I slept on the couch. Yeah, I know I have the uncomfortable King in the basement, but I wanted to be close to the action. Today, I will work in his room to screw in faceplates and arrange his furniture to his likings. He will have his room tonight.
