I have already read Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N’ Roll – by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley and From Here to the Great Unknown: A Memoir – by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough, so I was definitely interested in reading Priscilla’s new memoir about her life after Elvis.
She met Elvis when she was 14 years old in 1959, got married to Elvis in 1967, Lisa Marie was born in 1968, and she divorced Elvis in 1973. Elvis died in 1977 and Priscilla is still alive and well. So, what has she done during that time? Well, this book dives into everything that has happened to her and her family. It’s sad as she has gone through some tragic deaths of family members (most of them were drug addictions).
When she was with Elvis, her life revolved around him and he was in charge. He wanted her attention and prettiness when they were together. After the divorce, she was much more free with her life and choices.
I didn’t know about any of her relationships after Elvis. Robert Kardashian was one of them.
I didn’t know how involved she was with the estate of Elvis and Graceland – until Lisa turned 25 and she become the heir.
I didn’t know about her animal activism.
I didn’t know how she got started acting. I am glad she talked about The Naked Gun movies. I didn’t know she had a role on the TV series Dallas.
She has a love of her family, and throughout her life, she did anything needed for her kids and grandkids.
I enjoyed reading about her life, and nothing was off limits for her.
