As I have just finished with this one, I am a bit sad it was the last book, But, I am very hopeful that more Cole and Pike books will be available soon (or even Carol Starkey, John Chen, or Jon Stone stand-a-lone books). I really enjoyed all of them, even though, I knew that eventually in the end, Cole and Pike would figure out who the bad person was (but, how they arrived there was always suspenseful).
I will admit, and tell you I had quite a few late nights of reading I had when I just couldn’t stop, and had to keep reading to see what happened next.
I especially liked the food details, the details for when something bad happened, and the overall visual descriptions of everything from Cole’s office and home to buildings to people to and to all the vehicles mentioned – throughout the books. I guess lots of research goes into everything and I appreciate Crais for this. He really cares and takes great pride in Cole and Pike.
I am going to read his stand-a-lone books and already read Demolition Angel.
I am thankful and very glad that google recommended this series to me as I searched for similar books to John Sandford’s Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers books. Check one for Google!
I do have some new series to try as they were recommended to me through my Facebook groups I belong to for book reviews:
Deal Breaker (Myron Bolitar, #1) – by Harlan Coben
Odd Thomas (Odd Thomas, #1) – by Dean Koontz
Iron Lake (Cork O’Connor, #1) – by William Kent Krueger
The Life We Bury (Joe Talbert, #1; Detective Max Rupert, #1) – by Allen Eskins
