If you don’t know me, my name is Mark, and I like to eat. Not Sushi, though. It doesn’t appeal to me to eat raw food! I have never actually eaten Sushi, but that changed when Niko saw a video on it, and was intrigued to try it. But, Nina and I had no clue about where to try in San Antonio. Well, one day, we were shopping at La Cantera, an upscale outdoor shopping mall that has a lot fun places to spend money on things and a lot of fun places to spend money on food. One of those food places was Kona Grill, and they had Sushi, so we tried some raw and it was OK. I didn’t die! I I told Niko that we need to find a better place for it.
Flash forward to us now living in Minnesota, and there a Chinese and Sushi restaurant called Asian Cafe. I have ordered takeout several times and it’s my usual lo-mein noodles with no vegetables, wonton soup, and fried rice with no peas and no carrots. Niko also likes the noodles and soup from there and Nina gets her normal sesame chicken with brown rice. I make sure I get everybody in the house something. Well, a few weeks ago, all three of us had lunch there and we tried the Sushi. They recommended a few fried rolls to try, and to our surprise, what we ended up ordering, was actually really good. In addition to the rolls, we also got a lot of other food. Last weekend, Niko and I went for lunch there after a quick stop at Goodwill, and we tried another fried roll, and again, it was actually really good. Right now, it’s my favorite place for Chinese and Sushi.
These are the rolls we had, and yes, I know there is a typo!

I did see a posting in our neighborhood Facebook group about a new Thai restaurant opening up super close to us, and when I viewed the menu, it looked good (no Sushi, though), although it didn’t have a lot of variety, but it had noodles and soups! So, it passes my first review!
I was going to go to Goodwill on my own during the week to drop some donations off, but when I told Niko the evening before as he was going to sleep, he muttered don’t go without me! Then Nina muttered, the boys can get lunch at Asian Cafe. Reason he wanted to go to Goodwill was he wanted to look around and buy something he can take apart and then smash it to smithereens. The item for that task was an old phone! In addition to the phone, he got some wrapping paper and a pizza cutter, and we got an old crock pot for Nina so she can dye yarn in it. I got nothing but the bill.
When we got home, I told Niko to walk into the house and start talking into the phone, and it cracked Nina up! I did see the extreme joy of happiness of Niko as he found the electric screwdriver and took it apart. He then grabbed a hammer, and smashed it. Best $14.99 spent!!!
