Up until about a month ago, Niko wasn’t even thinking about what to be for Halloween. But, then, he watched KPop Demon Hunters, and he wanted to be Jinu as a Demon! Fine with us. Nina found his hat online and made the robe herself. She used makeup on Niko and drew the demon markers on his face and arms. Pretty cool. I even told Niko he could play Idol on repeat, but I think he would be embarrassed by that. We play the soundtrack in the car in the mornings, but as soon as leaves me, he shuts it off! He knows the words and the dance moves, my little soda pop boy!
Unlike prior Halloweens, where the majority of neighbors setup shop in there driveway’s and had there garage doors open, we didn’t think that would happen here (mainly, because it supposed to be much colder). We are hoping that we can follow other kids and parents for trick or treating! I will say, that a lot of our current neighbors have decorated and gone a bit overboard! I am glad, though, that Halloween is on a Friday, so we can get a little bit later start and Niko can have a little bit later bedtime.
On Tuesday, and after he came home from school, Niko put his costume on and his transformation to Jinu was remarkable. He is already thinking to next year as he wants to wear it again!
Well, it all went well, and besides being cold and sprinkly, we had a wonderful time. Glad we had umbrellas and warm clothes to protect us. Maybe next year, it will snow!
Of course, there were a lot of people dressed up as all the characters from KPop Demon Hunters. I dressed up as Mark, a tired dad. That has been my costume for a few years, and it’s easy.
I think one of Niko’s best costumes was a fireman several years ago. He wore his fireman pajamas (which was a onesie), he had red boots, he had a fire hat, and I cut an old hose and left a nozzle on. Pure awesomeness and realness. He was Bowser for a few years.
When we arrived home, it was time to spread the candy and sort it out – for Niko and for me! Earlier in the day, we got groceries delivered, and they included a small goodie bag of candy. I actually told Nina and Niko to hide the candy as it’s not good for me anymore.
We even put a small bowl of candy on the front porch, but also saved some for us.
