Little boxes, medium boxes, large boxes, wardrobe boxes, and plastic bins of all size encompass our house. They are all labeled and have colored stickers on them which tells us and the movers where that particular box or bin goes in the new house. After I finished working on Friday, I packed up the “home office”! I am going to buy myself a new desk and if I have room, I want a comfortable sitting chair! The current desk can be manually adjusted for height and it will be in our downstairs (basement) where it will be used to do Niko things.
When we do get moved in, we will be in the market for some new furniture. One of the first things on that list is a kitchen table. We have always eaten at a kitchen island, but the new place has a place for a kitchen table, so we don’t have to eat two to an island one to the sofa anymore.
Tomorrow, movers come to pick everything up and delivery is between June 6 and June 11; I will know an exact date, hopefully tomorrow. Whatever that date is, I will be sure I arrive before them in the car and with the kitten. Nina and Niko are flying up on June 10. Once I do arrive, Nina will have an order of a lot of household supplies delivered.
During our time of being houseless, well, we actually closed on the new house last week, we will be staying with my parents.
It’s going to be weird for me seeing the house in person for the first time. Nina actually went up in March to view and buy!
It’s going to be weird for me as I have never done anything like this before. Even though I wasn’t born in San Antonio, TX, I have lived here for my whole life. It’s not like we saying bye forever to San Antonio. We will be back as my parents and brother live there as well as Nina’s mother.
But, at that same time, I am also excited to start something new. I am not concerned about the cold, as it’s better than being hot every day!
