Well, I have written many many many many ODES TO THE WIFE here, and I am going to repeat it again, but she really is the BEST MOTHER. Mother’s Day needs to be celebrated daily, as moms everywhere are awesome and deserve more than just one day of pampering.
If you have been living in a cocoon and are reading me for the first time, we are moving to Minnesota next month, so I didn’t want to get anything that she would have to pack in a box. Easier for me because I know candy will suffice and that is easy to get. I was planning on doing a CVS run yesterday and getting her favorites, but my plans changed.
On Thursday after work, I had to help my manager at work pick-up a car that he purchased at an auction. Before I proceed, I live in Texas and he lives in Utah. He was originally going to fly down with another colleague to get it and then drive home, but his plans changed as well as he just didn’t have the time. Knowing I live where the car was purchased, I got involved. I picked up the car which was a 2003 Ford Thunderbird convertible and drove it to my house. The shipping company should be coming by tomorrow to pick it up with the final destination of Utah in a few days.
The pick-up location was at a Whole Foods, and I know they have an interesting variety of chocolate so I ran in and got some chocolate for Nina and Niko. For me, I got nothing. I did get myself some dinner at Panera, but it was not deserving of any kind words from my mouth.
It was weird driving a car that wasn’t mine, and it was also raining, so I was extra cautious on the drive home. Don’t laugh, but I did hit my head on the top twice!
I don’t have anything major planned for Nina today. I want to see her relax, but I know that is a challenge as we need time to pack. Niko did have a request to go swimming, and I will do my best to make sure that happens for us this morning.
