Shipping, Donating, Selling, and Eating – The Adventures of our Day

Posted on 02/23/202504/19/2025 by Mark

Yesterday, I was able to get Niko out of the house. It’s been really challenging to accomplish that as he wants to stay home and watch his iPad and play video games (sometimes, both at the same time). So, I was mean dad and took both away and told him, until you get dressed and get in the car, they are both mine. He was frustrated, but after 30 minutes of him realizing that I wasn’t giving up, he gave up and got dressed! But, he really wanted to go out with mom and leave me home! I was like not happening, as I have the money!

I am not going to bore you with every single detail of every single stop, so I will make it snappy.

We went to the UPS Store as I had to drop off a pair of wireless earbuds I recently purchased and didn’t like them.

We went to Goodwill as we had a small box of donate stuff.

We went to Half Price Books to sell some books, and Nina and Niko got some new used books. I looked, but nothing caught my eye.

We had lunch at Torchy’s Tacos, and you it was actually really good. I will go back. I had a chicken taco and a shrimp taco.

When we arrived home, Niko was super extra tired. I mean, he was sick last week. As an audio book of Percy Jackson was playing before bedtime, he fell asleep around 6 pm (usually, we aim for 7 pm). It was a bit early, but Nina and I didn’t question it. I was also tired and fell asleep a few minutes later. He woke up a few hours later for a quick bathroom pitstop, and he slept until 4:30 am. Yeah, I am not happy getting up that early, but I do it and will only complain a little bit. I make sure the cat is out of the bedroom, and shut the door so Nina can get some extra sleep in. I am, though, glad that when Niko wakes up early, he doesn’t turn every light on and scream at the top of his lungs. He relaxes in his bed and sometimes the cat joins him. I relax as well and keep one ear and eye open for him, while the other sleeps!
