Originally, this was going to be titled, Ode To My Wife – Part 9 (Happy Mother’s Day), but that would’ve required me to actually think and write something super amazing about Nina, which is easy as she does so much for me, Niko, and Riley. But my thinking and writing part of my brain hasn’t been motivated as I have been a bit busy in the evenings for the past few weeks. See, Nina’s back has been hurting again, so I have been doing all the nighttime Nina duties with Niko, and by the time I am done with Niko, I just want to be finished with my downstairs dad duties so I can go back upstairs and go to bed myself. Then, in a very tiny font, I was going to mention that Nina has been back (no pun intended) with Niko in the evenings for for a few days, and we are all back to our normal routine. Basically, in the end, I could’ve written something awesome, but I didn’t feel like it!!!
So, instead, I used ChatGPT as an AI resource. I have edited it, but it got what I wanted; a funny Mother’s Day story!
Without any more words from me, lets go (as Mario says)…
For Mother’s Day, Niko and Riley teamed up to surprise Nina with breakfast in bed.
They concocted a plan the night before, Niko wrote a heartfelt note with colorful splashes of markers, and Riley… well, Riley provided moral support. The next morning, Mark helped Niko prepare pancakes while Riley supervised from the kitchen floor, occasionally batting at a runaway chocolate chip. With the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air, Mark carefully carried the tray laden with pancakes, coffee, a vase of flowers, and a homemade card up to Nina’s room.
As they tiptoed into the bedroom, they were greeted not by Nina’s smiling face, but by a loud snore. Nina was fast asleep, still lost in dreamland. Niko and Mark exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what to do next. Riley, sensing the tension, decided to take matters into his own paws. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, Riley leaped onto the bed, landing right on top of Nina’s stomach. Startled awake by the unexpected weight, Nina jolted upright, only to be met with a chorus of laughter from Niko, Mark, and Riley.
Amidst the chaos, Niko proudly presented his breakfast masterpiece, and Mark handed Nina the handmade card, which Riley promptly swatted with his paw. Despite the unconventional wake-up call, Nina couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of her family gathered around her, ready to celebrate Mother’s Day in their own unique way.
