I think I need to rename thedadspeaks.com to thedadeats.com, because I love to eat! And, for my birthday, which was last Tuesday, I got Chinese food. But, before I dive into my fortune, let me tell you about Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and what I had to eat! So, pull up a chair and I promise, I will eat with my mouth open so you can be jealous! You may even hear some yummy noises coming from somewhere in my body!
Saturday, at my parent’s house, we had pizza from a local restaurant called Naples. Can’t go wrong with a cheese pizza and a sausage and pepperoni pizza. I had three slices and it was pure heaven for me! I am very glad they did pizza and not BBQ like they had mentioned a few weeks prior. We also had a huge chocolate cake from Costco. Yeah, I ate big slice and after a few bites, I was in a food coma! We took most of the pizza home and a small piece of the cake.
On Sunday, I drove through another local restuarant called Las Palapas for breakfast tacos. I wanted them for Monday and Tuesday morning (I got plenty for that as well as more for Nina and Niko). On a whim, I also ordered a cheese enchilada plate for my lunch and a bowl of tortilla soup. Niko had a small mouthful of my rice and a bite of a cheese enchilada. He liked the rice! In prior visits to Las Palapas, Niko would scarf down cheese enchiladas, but not anymore (too spicy, he claims). I ate everything, but my enjoyment came from the soup and breakfast tacos on Monday and Tuesday! I wasn’t thrilled with the enchiladas. Next to Las Palapas is a Starbucks, and even though I don’t drink coffee, I offered to drive through for Nina and Niko (Nina for a coffee drink and Niko for hot cocoa) and they happily accepted!
On Monday, I took Nina to the Salt Grass Steakhouse. I got tortilla soup, a steak, and Mac and Cheese, and even though I ate every morsel of it, it wasn’t as good as in the past. The soup was the best! Nina had ribs.
On Tuesday, I wanted Chinese food, but I didn’t feel like driving to my number once choice, a local restaurant called Golden Wok. My number two choice was closer, and when I was ordering online, I kept getting an error message. When I researched further, it was because they are closed on Tuesdays. My number three choice was a fast food Chinese restaurant called Lins Express, which Niko and I like, but not Nina. Nina was cool with me going and getting nothing for her as she had some leftovers from the Salt Grass that she was going to nibble on. I got noodles for Niko and I and fried rice and a couple of egg rolls for me. Niko actually didn’t want the noodles, so I got like 5 meals out of all of it! And, he got my fortune cookies!
Pizza, cake, breakfast tacos, steak, and lo-mein noodles was a perfect variety of eating and I enjoyed it all. Just don’t ask my stomach!
