Mona of the Manor – by Armistead Maupin

Posted on 04/24/2024 by Mark

When I saw this book as an upcoming release, I immediately threw it in my wishlist and I didn’t care that it was months and month away from being officially published. I had already read the previous 9 books from this series and enjoyed them, especially all the characters. They had diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations. The premise for them revolves around the matriarch, Anna Madrigal, who is a landlord at 28 Barbary Lane in San Francisco, CA. Anna used to be Andy Ramsey.

Mona of the Manor is Mona Ramsey, the daughter of Anna Madrigal. After the death of her husband, Lord Teddy Roughton, Mona becomes the Lady of the Easley House in the U.K. and she overseas it with her adopted son, Wilfred, and a Gardner, Mr. Hargis.

I won’t spoil anything, but I will say that an American couple, Rhonda and Ernie visit Easley House as well as Anna and Michael Tolliver, a friend of Mona’s and a love interest for Wilfred. Something happens with the American couple, and if you want to know, then read the book as I won’t spoil it!

It was a quick read, and I enjoyed it. Hope he has more in the series.
