Robert B. Parker’s Bad Influence – by Alison Gaylin

Posted on 01/10/2024 by Mark

This is the 11th book in the Sunny Randall series. Number 12, also by Alison Gaylin, is due out this year, and it’s already in my want to read list.

For this one, Sunny is hired to be the bodyguard of a young social media guru, who has been threatened. Of course, with her excellent private investigating background, Spike, and a few police officers (even her retired dad helps), she figures everything out.

I did some googling and wikpedia’ing on the Sunny Randall books, and read that some movies were in the works with Helen Hunt playing Sunny, but those plans have halted. I do think Helen would’ve done a great job as Sunny, but I could also see Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, or even Lady Gaga playing that role. They need somebody sexy, confident, and funny! Her best friend Spike, I picture James Corden. Her ex-husband, I see George Clooney. Her dad, the retired cop, I want Robert De Niro. And, lastly, her ex father in law (and big time crime boss), it has to be Tommy Lee Jones.
