Robert B. Parker’s Blood Feud – by Mike Lupica

Posted on 01/03/2024 by Mark

This is the 7th book in the Sunny Randall series, and the first one written by Mike Lupica. For this one, I enjoyed the plot much more than all the others books as Sunny is hired by herself to solve the shooting of her ex-husband, Richie. Intertwined, she is also working with Richie’s father, Desmond, and Richie’s uncle, Felix. Both Desmond and Felix are the top honchos in the local mafia. Richie never got into it, and runs a legitimate bar.

A bad person from a prior book ends up being the dude who gets caught, and of course, Sunny and company solve it. She did have to lie to another bad person and that person holds a grudge against her. That is why the 8th book is called Grudge Match, as she is hired by that bad person to find a missing person.

I actually just finished the 8th book and enjoyed her working for that bad dude, but in the end, the bad dude ends up being good and helps her solve her case.
