12 Months to Live – by James Patterson and Mike Lupica

Posted on 09/28/2023 by Mark

James Patterson and Mike Lupica co-authored another book earlier this year, and I enjoyed that one. So, when I saw this one, I immediately threw it in my Amazon Wishlist and read it as soon as it was available. I didn’t even care what it was about!

Jane Smith is a criminal defense attorney who is defending a wealthy businessman who was accused of murdering three people: a mom, a dad, and their daughter. A lot of deception, action, and suspense throughout the book. I was eager to know what was going to happen next as I was always surprised.

In addition to this trial, Jane Smith and Jimmy Cunniff, a former cop and current Jane helper and investigator are working on another triple homicide that could be related to the current case.

At the start of the trial, Jane learns she has 12 months to live as she has cancer.

I can easily see more books with Jane Smith as the main character.

With Patterson and Lupica, the words flow perfectly, and I can’t even tell the difference between them.

On a side note, I am slowly reading the Jesse Stone books by Robert Parker, and after Parker passed away, a few authors have continued the series with Lupica being one of them.
