I had no clue what pOpshelf was, but last weekend, I took Niko to one because he kept seeing commercials on the television. We did the same thing with Living Spaces a few weeks ago, but I knew what that store was. I am not completely out of the loop.
The pOpshelf store itself was clean and it felt like everything Niko wanted was less than $5.00. I was happy to get him mostly art supplies – erasers, a ruler, colored pencils, and a huge sharpie. We also got two new bread pans for Nina. We spent about $30 but could’ve easily spent a lot more. I told Niko I didn’t want to get any food from there, but we did get a Hersheys candy bar.
After that, he wanted to eat at IHOP. Unfortunately, lots of people were waiting and neither of us wanted to join that club. The last time we had IHOP which was also Niko’s first time was a few weeks ago on the way from our cruise. He had a hot cocoa, which he claims was the best thing ever and pancakes.
So, we drove through the shopping center area looking for food. Niko knew there was a Jamba Juice very close by to where we were, and he asked for one. I found it and parked the car.
I am not a fan of smoothies, but I did get Niko one along with a pretzel. Next door was a pizza place and that is what he had for lunch. Niko kept telling me that was the best pizza he has ever had. We even grabbed two slices for takeout for Nina. To me, it was too greasy, but I ate mine and didn’t complain.
A few more doors down was a cookie store, so we ran in, and each got a cookie (if he hadn’t had a smoothie, I would’ve gotten him a shake from there). Also, in that strip center and a few more doors down, was a Five Guys, Jersey Mikes, and First Watch – yeah, three more places to eat.
We always have fun when we venture outside as we laugh, sing, and talk about anything.
