The three of us got back from a cruise yesterday. It was supposed to happen in 2020, but it got canceled due to Covid-19. So, it finally happened two years later. It was Niko’s first vacation, first road trip, and first time in a hotel. I have to give a lot of thanks to Nina who did 99 percent of the packing for the trip and that included stuff for Niko to play with in the car, the hotel, and the ship.
The last time Nina and I had a vacation was in December of 2015, and it was a cruise! The one we just got back from was our 8th cruise. Niko was only a few months in the oven on that 2015 cruise.
Here are a few fun things I wrote on that blog from December of 2015:
We stopped at IKEA in Houston to look at the kid’s section…cribs, dressers, and toys.
When I wasn’t reading by the pool or stuffing my face with food, I was looking at all the babies
Being on a cruise with a pregnant woman is actually fun. There is always a wide variety of food available at all times of day, there is a pool to swim in, there is a bed to sleep in, there are a bunch of places to sit if she gets tired, and there are bathrooms everywhere!
My wife did bring a baby book of names and we looked thru it and jotted down some names that we like.
Unlike past cruises where I can run around the ship at my convenience and take pictures of the sun, the ocean, the food, and of the ship itself, I didn’t get the chance to do much of that. Despite that, we all had a great time, and we had great company in my parents as they joined us. It was nice to have four halfway immature adults with one mature child!
I will share pics and more words with you soon.
Oh, lastly, Niko is on Winter Break and doesn’t go back to school till next year!
