Niko has been watching a lot of Captain Underpants lately and one of the albums on his iPad is from the movie Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. My favorite song from it is called Saturday (cast version) because the lyrics are funny:
I love Saturday
When anything is possible
I love Saturday
‘Cause I can wear my pajamas a-all day
I love Saturday
‘Cause I can watch TV all day
I can pee a little bit in my underwear
And no one will mind, ah
Yesterday, I didn’t have anything scheduled for myself; June 18th I had a doctor’s appointment, June 25th, we got a bookcase delivered, July 2nd, I had an appointment for bloodwork, and July 9th, I got my air conditioning fixed in my car. It wasn’t as cold it normally is and when you live in a hot area for most of the year, I had to get it fixed. Now, it’s cold and it was the best $250 spent!
So, I told Niko we could run around Office Max and then get lunch nearby on Saturday. I was planning on Steak N Shake because I like the name and also, I have never eaten there.
He enjoyed Office Max as he sat in office chairs, opened up filing cabinets, opened up all the printers, played with the desks and the electric adjustable desks, and he really wanted a small steel safe – which I said no.
Afterwards, he was worn out and wanted to go home without eating. Once he says that, I know going to a restaurant is almost impossible. He is a bit stubborn like me. I wonder where he gets it from! But almost as quickly as he said he wanted to go home without eating, he also asked for Freddy’s which was around the corner from where we were. I obliged and got his usual. A kid’s plain cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake with sprinkles, whipped cream, and a cherry. I also played nice husband and got Nina a plain hamburger with ketchup and onions with fries and for me, I got a plain bacon double cheeseburger with fries. On our way home, I knew we would be passing a new chicken finger fast food restaurant called Zaxby’s. Supposedly, they are rumored to be one of the best for chicken fingers. Niko wanted to go home and not stop, but I told him I wanted to try it and we were already in line. As I drove around to pay, Niko changed his mind as he wanted to try them also.
Now for the verdict on Zaxby’s. They were definitely not the best chicken fingers I have had, but neither of us complained as we ate them. I don’t see myself going back again. I like Culver’s chicken fingers better!
I still want to try Steak N Shake. Maybe I should write more about food as I like to eat!
