Usually, I am one the one who has time off from work and when that happens, Nina works more hours on those days. Well, since last Tuesday, she has been off from work as her company is moving their inventory to another warehouse. And, I have been working all week on site at the physical office Monday through Wednesday and at home on my sofa Thursday and Friday. I did look to see if I could get time off, but the days were already booked up. People always tend to schedule time off around holidays – me included.
So, yeah, I was jealous on Wednesday as Nina was texting me pictures of her and Niko out in the world. They went to a movie theater that not only had movies, but also games and a bowling alley. They sat through half of Sing 2, they had buttered popcorn, and they didn’t bowl. They wanted to bowl with me which we can do somewhere else! On Thursday, Nina ran some much-needed errands for us; she picked up my car registration sticker at the tax office as it probably got lost in the mail, she paid our quarterly HOA dues at the HOA office, and she picked up some school supplies for Niko. Nina also finished painting the downstairs.
You know something, it was also very nice seeing her not doing anything. She does a lot of for Niko and me. I could easily write a best seller about how awesome, amazing, and beautiful she is; in addition to how much fun we have together. I enjoy making her laugh to the point of crying sometimes. I almost did that to Niko a few nights ago while we were hanging in his bed before bedtime for him.
Yes, Niko is going to start his first year of schooling as a first grader at the school in our neighborhood. Yes, we have explained to him multiple times that he can’t wear his sunglasses, his hat, and the same Mario shirt and pants he always wears when he oes out. He will have plenty of clothing options to choose and I really hope that once he sees other kids wearing short sleeve t-shirts and shorts, he will want too also.
I am pretty sure that Nina feels a little bit of jealous when Niko and I are out in the world on the weekends. She has a few more days off next week. What will they do?
