Yesterday, Niko and I went to Barnes and Noble, Ross, Barnes and Noble again, and Whataburger.
I love taking Niko out as we always have a good time – Saturday is our time and Sunday, we normally stay home and get ready for the week.
I tend to start our adventures early so we can relax in the afternoons. But, yesterday, we had to wait till noon as we had a large bookcase delivered from a friend. I used a company called Dolly to pick it up at her apartment and deliver it to us. Very affordable and I am glad that I didn’t have to do any lifting at all.
After it got delivered, Niko got dressed in his Super Mario outfit, which is Super Mario Bros pants, a Super Mario Bros long sleeve shirt, sunglasses, and a red hat with the letter M on it. He won’t wear shorts and short sleeve t-shirts! I try and it doesn’t work.
At Barnes and Noble, he found the kids section and stood on the stage. I was expecting a performance, but I didn’t get that. After that, I followed him around the store. I got him a Lego Technic Monster Jam – Max D. Basically, lots of little pieces but the end result is a cool monster truck. It took me a few hours to build it for him. When I finished it, he let out a happy scream and wanted to show Nina since the back wheels were mechanical. It was really cute because as I was building it, he was sitting next to me playing with the pieces that weren’t used yet. I also got him a Minecraft game book.
Next door was a Ross. We headed to the back of the store to the home goods section. He wanted me to buy him a trashcan, a chair, an ottoman with storage, a buddha statue, and a cheese grater. I said no to all those things, but we did a buy a big mixing bowl for Nina.
As soon as we got to the car with our Barnes and Noble and Ross purchases, Niko had to pee. So, back we went to Barnes and Noble. That Barnes and Noble has a Starbucks so after our quick bathroom detour, he wanted a chocolate milk, a croissant and a cookie. I said no chocolate milk because you had some in the morning with breakfast. Then, I said either a croissant or a cookie. He chose a cookie! Good choice as I also got a cookie and we shared them.
On the way home, we drove through Whataburger. He got a plain cheeseburger and fries, and I got a chicken tender combo meal.
