Engineers are common in our family, and I have feeling, that Niko will be one as well. He really enjoys seeing how things work and taking things apart and building something better. We do that a lot with Legos as I will build a very basic car, boat, or an airplane and he will add more and make it so much better. He is also really good with Jenga; not the game but building interesting symmetrical tall pieces. They have been outside, but yesterday we brought them all inside as it will be something Niko can do inside for the next few days as we are expecting some rain.
Just within the past few days, he started to watch videos on YouTube Kids about Rubik’s Cubes. Last Monday, and as I was preparing him for bed, he asked very nicely if we can buy him one and without any hesitation from me, I said yes. We looked at few together on good old Amazon and ordered one. It didn’t arrive until Wednesday and when Niko opened the package, his smile was as big as I have ever seen it.
When we went to get our passport photos on Thursday, he took his Rubik’s Cube with him. I think he even slept with it the night it arrived. I was also telling him that it’s small enough so when he starts school in August, it can go in his backpack.
Watching him spin the cube with his gigantic fingers is amazing and he is only 6 years old! I know he will solve it.
Talk about 6…
Niko as a 6-year-old has been very nice and fun. I am not saying that he wasn’t nice and fun before- he was, but he just seems much more mature for his age.
