So, right now, the only clothes Niko will wear to sleep and to go out is Mario. To help this phase, we have four Mario long-sleeved shirts and one pair of Mario pants. Nina purchased some iron on Mario sights so she could put them on other long-sleeved shirts and pants – so, soon, we will have a bunch of choices for him. In every load of laundry, Mario is getting washed and dried!
When this first started happening a few weeks ago, he also stopped wearing his footed pajamas to sleep and now sleeps in a Mario long-sleeved shirt and plain red pants. That first night, I asked him if he wanted to wear pants and a shirt and without hesitation, he said yes. Sometimes he says yes, but then a few minutes later, he changes his mind. I was expecting him to change his mind and when we tucked him in bed, he was still wearing pants and a shirt. Later when Nina and I were alone, I was like, wow, he is wearing pants and a shirt without any issues!
I really think he prefers the comfort of pants and a shirt because he is growing, and the footed pajamas were getting tight. Yeah, Nina made a few bigger pairs for him, but I guess we don’t need them all.
I just wish he would wear shorts and short-sleeved shirts. He actually did wear a short sleeve Mario shirt, but it was over a plain long-sleeved red shirt. It was very cold that day.
