The biggest thing that happened to me in 2021 was that I graduated from Western Governors University in March with an MBA. I am super proud of myself of this accomplishment and am about to publish an Amazon E-book about the experience. It will be my 2nd E-book; my first was about my first year as a first-time dad. Once it is published, I want to start my 3rd book about my life as a high school football statistician, a sportswriter, and a sports photographer.
As far as work, I have been working from home since April of 2020. I have been to the physical office a few times, but I prefer the home office; no traffic going or leaving, access to my kitchen and bathroom, and great company in Nina and Niko. Plus, I am not stressed nor tired at home. And, at home, I don’t have to wear a mask. Oh, how can I forget that I am saving a few bucks for gas and car maintenance. I think I have driven less than 2,000 miles since last April.
The one bad thing, but I am pretty sure it’s true for the majority of people who are also working from home, is the fact that I have put on a few pounds. I have a bunch of clothes that don’t fit me, but I am hanging on to them in the hopes that I can shed some! In the meantime, I have purchased new clothes.
I was supposed be at the physical office the week of Christmas, but I was told by the leadership team to stay home as there isn’t enough seating available in our area with the new additions to our team on site. When I will return to the office is up in the air as I am awaiting communication from leadership.
Next year, we already have one vacation scheduled and we will book a cruise for later in the year. And, we may schedule a summer trip as well.
The three of us are vaccinated, so we are looking forward to getting out of the house and doing things in the real world. It will also give me more things to write about.
I think my biggest resolutions are to eat healthier, exercise, and lose some weight. Easier to write that than it is to actually do it.
Well, that is all I have to say. Be safe, wear a mask, get vaccinated, and Happy New Year.
