Since June 14th, I have been walking in the evenings after Niko is sleeping. It’s a very short walk around the block, because it’s so hot. Before I do my walks, I have to make sure I have clothes to change into. Because, even though they are short walks, I do sweat.
As far as sneakers, I have a pair of Sketchers that I wear, but I may invest in a different brand that is better for walking. They are primarily used for outdoor work such as mowing the lawn. I do have a really nice pair of Merrell sneakers, but I would rather those out in the world instead of for walking. If I do get a new pair, I will look at New Balance and Asics. A few days ago, I ordered a pair of New Balance from Amazon Prime Wardrobe, where I can try them on and if I don’t like them, I can return them at now cost. Also, in that order are two pairs of athletic shorts.
The walks are something and are a lot better than sitting on my rear end writing stuff or laying down and reading something. When it gets cooler out; which will be around early to mid October, I will do a little bit longer walk.
I do enjoy getting outside. It clears my mind and I don’t have to talk anyone. It’s nice seeing and saying a quick hi to other people; whether they are walking also, playing in there driveway, shooting hoops in the street, or mowing there lawns. I am friendly person.
Plus, I have been getting some beautiful pictures of sunsets and clouds and sharing them on Instagram.
All I need to do; in addition to walking, is eat better. I am trying and I am usually good for a few days, then I fall in the deep end of food. I just love food and food loves me and together, we are very happy! If only I can cut out pasta/rice and dairy and eat more fruit and veggies, I would be ok. But, it’s hard for me folks!
I will have a few weeks of bad eating as Nina is having minor back surgery on July 23rd and her recovery time is about 4 to 6 weeks. She is planning to get some easy heat and eat food from our local grocery store as well as Trader Joes and cooking and freezing meat sauce and lasagna for all of us. Don’t worry about Niko and I; I do know how to cook so I won’t need to rely on fast food, delivery, or my parents!
I have to eat better for myself and my family as I want to be healthy and be alive for a long long long time. Let me aim for after her recovery to start eating better again.
