If you ask Niko what his favorite holiday is, I would hope he says HALLOWEEN! Mainly, for the candy and he also gets to dress up as something. Well, this year Niko was Spiderman and I was Owlette from PJ Masks. I had a cape and her goggles! I must admit, that with a face mask, I was ready to save the neighborhood from villains and I saw a lot of villains walking around.
I was kind of curious as to how our neighborhood would give out candy and for the majority of them, they had tables setup with goody bags full of candy with the homeowners sitting in lawn chairs nearby. I would say that about half of the people we encountered (both homeowners and trick or treaters) weren’t wearing a face mask; do they not realize that we still in a pandemic? We just avoided them because we know better.
Our little Spiderman got to ride in a wagon; yeah, he was lazy Spiderman! Nina and I enjoyed being outside, talking to people, and seeing Niko’s happy face when he got candy! I also couldn’t have asked for better weather as it was clear skies in the mid 70’s.
For me, I am going to try my best to not eat all of his candy as I have been eating better since October 14th. I did sort out some of his candy that is either bubblegum or hard and those are mine. I don’t even like and have never been a fan of gum, but I will happily chew it until it loses its flavor and then throw it away.
