Father’s Day 2020 was very nice and it all started with a half day off from work on Friday for Juneteenth (that was a nice gesture from Chase bank). As soon as I was done working, Niko and I took a drive to see my parents, but first I had to get gas. I haven’t gotten gas since April! I also haven’t worn jeans since April 6th; which was my last day working at the office. It’s always nice to see my parents and I am looking forward to the day where Niko and I can get out of the car and give them hugs and kisses and actually go inside for a while and play with them. After we left them, I took Niko to Culvers where he had an ice cream shake and I had chicken tenders, fries, and a big soda. I don’t know why, but for the past few weeks, I have been craving chicken tenders and /or nuggets. And, they were pretty yummy at Culvers. Niko enjoyed his shake and told me it was better than Sonic and Freddy’s and wants to go back! I am fine going back as I like to eat and drink.
On Saturday, Niko and I had leftover waffles for breakfast with bacon. I always let Nina sleep in on the weekends so when Niko wakes up, I wake up also! When Nina did come downstairs, I excused myself to mow the front lawn. It’s a really nice feeling doing yardwork and not having to pay somebody else and wait for them. I also like the way it smells after I mow. After I was finished, I took a quick a shower. When I returned downstairs, it was Nina’s time to work and that meant Niko and daddy play time! We played with magnetic tiles, legos, and cars. We moved a small bookcase in his bedroom and moved a small bookcase in our loft and organized both his room and the loft. I also did laundry and I relaxed with Niko on the sofa while he watched his iPad and I read my book my iPad. When Nina was finished working, I went out alone to pick-up Chinese food my Niko and I; Nina doesn’t care for the place I went. It was nice to be out alone, but I did miss them. Niko ate noodles and egg drop soup and I ate noodles and rice while Nina cooked sausage and pasta. After Niko ate all of his noodles, I gave him a shampoo shower and bath in his bathroom and not ours. I even shut the curtains and let him some privacy. Usually, he showers and bathes in our bathroom, but for the past few nights, he wanted to use his. After he got cleaned, we played more legos and relaxed upstairs till he was ready for bed around 7 pm.
A few weeks ago Niko asked us very nicely about the Easter Bunny; we don’t believe in the religious aspect, but we do like giving gifts and eating. Our neighborhood was going to have an egg hunt this year, but it got canceled when the pandemic arrived. Last year, we were freshly moved in and were to exhausted to do anything. So, Niko spoke and Nina transcribed a letter to the Easter Bunny asking if it can come see us. The Easter Bunny said yes, I can come on Father’s Day; that actually allowed Nina and I time to gather gifts for Niko. Instead of me sleeping in today and having breakfast in bed like we did for Nina on Mother’s Day, we did a small egg hunt in our backyard which Niko really enjoyed. The eggs had treats in them! After we finished, we had breakfast; I requested bacon and a ham and cheese omelet with a glass of chocolate milk. After we ate breakfast, I noticed a note on the fridge from the Easter Bunny to Niko and when I read it to Niko, it said to look under our bed for more gifts! I have never seen Niko run faster and when he looked under the bed, there was a monster truck lego set and a Spiderman electric toothbrush. After I helped him open the legos, I again excused myself to mow the backyard. I like doing the yardwork in the morning before it gets hot. After my shower, I was happy to relax upstairs with Nina and Niko and read my book on my iPad. I also did laundry and gave Nina and I new sheets and pillowcases for our bed. I even got to watch a documentary about Antarctica on Amazon.
Oh, so for Father’s Day, I got bamboo underwear from Cariloha; I already had one pair from a cruise several years ago and they are super comfy. Now, I have three. They also made me a chocolate cake. I also got to take a nap for an hour which was very nice as I was tired. Overall, really pleasant weekend and Father’s Day.
